ACE CoLab Exchange Philosophy

I don’t view coaching, guiding, or personal development as products. I view them as partnerships. At ACE CoLab, we believe meaningful change happens through exchange.

For most of my career, I have worked in spaces centered around education, leadership, personal growth, and adventure. I’ve taught skiing, coached athletes, guided in the mountains, facilitated wellness practices, and supported people through significant life transitions. Across all of those experiences, I’ve learned that transformation rarely happens because someone buys a product. It happens through relationships.

Every experience we create together is an exchange of energy, commitment, knowledge, trust, and presence. It requires investment from everyone involved. The work I do requires ongoing education, preparation, training, and a commitment to showing up fully. Growth requires participants to bring their own curiosity, courage, effort, and willingness to engage in the process.

When those elements come together, something powerful becomes possible—not because someone purchased a service, but because people chose to invest in a shared experience of learning, growth, and transformation. That dynamic is not a transaction. It is an exchange.

A Sliding Scale That Honors Everyone

We believe outdoor adventures, coaching, wellness, and personal growth should be accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances. That’s why every service at ACE CoLab is offered on a sliding scale:

Supporter Rate – For those with financial abundance who wish to pay it forward. This rate helps fund scholarships, sustain ACE CoLab, support continuing education, and expand access for others.

Standard Rate – Reflects the true cost of the offering, honoring the energy, training, experience, and resources behind each session.

Accessible Rate – For those experiencing financial hardship but still ready to step into growth, adventure, and community.

Rather than requiring applications, income verification, or explanations, I choose to trust people. I trust that individuals understand their circumstances better than anyone else. I trust that most people want to contribute fairly when given the opportunity. And I trust that communities become stronger when we support one another.

What Exchange Looks Like in Practice

When someone joins an ACE CoLab offering, we each bring something to the relationship.

My role is to bring experience, training, guidance, and presence. My commitment is to create spaces where people can explore challenges, develop skills, expand their perspective, and move toward the goals that matter most to them.

Your role is to bring curiosity, commitment, openness, and an investment that reflects both your circumstances and the value you receive. Growth requires participation. It requires showing up, doing the work, and engaging with the process.

Together, we create something larger than either of us could create alone. We create spaces where adventure sparks transformation, connection builds community, and experiences empower evolution.

Investing in More Than Yourself

One of the things I appreciate most about the sliding-scale model is that it recognizes how interconnected we are. When someone chooses the Supporter Rate, they are doing more than paying for their own experience. They are helping make scholarships possible, supporting future programming, funding continuing education, and ensuring that ACE CoLab can continue offering opportunities to people from a variety of financial backgrounds.

In that way, every exchange becomes an investment in the community itself. Participants who have the ability to contribute more help create access for those who currently have less. The result is a model that honors both sustainability and accessibility without sacrificing either.

The Heart of ACE CoLab

At its core, ACE CoLab has never been about selling coaching sessions, retreats, workshops, or adventures. It is about creating opportunities for people to challenge themselves, connect with others, learn, heal, and evolve.

The financial exchange simply helps make that work possible. My hope is that this model honors both the value of the work and the reality that every person’s financial situation is different. More importantly, I hope it reflects the kind of community we’re trying to build—one rooted in trust, generosity, accountability, accessibility, and shared growth.
